Great PRs know it’s important to pitch the right stories to the right journalists. But when inboxes are flooded with irrelevant outreach, even the best pitches get ghosted.

Synapse’s stories marketplace is replacing noise with relevance – making media relations more targeted and productive.

How Synapse works

Filter and respond to media requests

Apply filters like sector, region and channel. Then get real-time alerts in Slack so you can jump on requests as they pop up.

Pitch to relevant journalists with AI

From campaigns to comment pieces, Synapse gives you an AI-recommended list of 20-25 journalists for every pitch.

Monitor your pitch stats in real time

Check who’s reading your pitch as journalists interact. And if a story gets spiked, you can see if it’s down to timing or relevance.

PR Step 1 PR Step 2 PR Step 3

The only place to live chat with journalists

Swap email for DMs in Synapse and Slack, so you can collaborate faster and earn more coverage.

FAQs

How do you verify your users?

Synapse is designed for people in PR and the media. So our team manually verifies every single one of our users to check that their role is a good fit. This helps to maximise relevance for journalists and gives PRs the best possible chance of securing coverage.

Our verification process usually takes 1-2 hours. But if we need more information or have questions about your day-to-day role, we’ll be in touch.

Who’s currently using Synapse?

Synapse has thousands of users on both sides of the media relations landscape. We have PR agencies, freelancers and in-house professionals from across the UK. And our journalists write for nationals, regionals and trades, covering everything from personal finance to lifestyle.

Do I need to pay for Synapse?

For PRs, we offer a choice of paid plans with flexible monthly or yearly payment options. If you need help finding the right plan for your team, get in touch at support@synapse.media

.

For journalists, Synapse is free to use.

If I have a problem with Synapse, where do I go?

For any registration, payment or platform issues, contact support@synapse.media. Our working hours are 9.00am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, with a skeleton support service outside these hours. We aim to respond to everyone within 24 working hours.

Why is a marketplace better than email?

Journalists get hundreds (if not thousands) of emails a day. For PRs, this means there’s a high chance your email pitches aren’t even getting seen by the media. For journalists, it means your inbox feels out of control – and finding the right stories and experts can feel impossible.

This is where our marketplace comes in. It’s a place for PRs to take their stories out of crowded inboxes and for journalists to easily search for the stories they want.
